CAS Ultrasound Price in the Philippines (2026): Government vs. Private Rates

A CAS ultrasound in the Philippines costs around ₱700–₱2,200 in selected government hospitals and ₱2,800–₱5,000 at private clinics and diagnostic centers. Most of the selected private online listings fall around ₱3,400–₱4,300.
For example, Philippine General Hospital (PGH) lists ₱1,000 for an outpatient-pay congenital anomaly scan, while Exact Check offers a ₱2,800 online booking rate and Hi-Precision lists ₱4,200 at selected branches. More extensive packages, such as CAS with cervical length measurement, placental Doppler or 3D/4D imaging, cost more.
When it is used: A congenital anomaly scan (CAS), also called a detailed fetal anatomy scan or second-trimester anomaly scan, examines the baby’s developing organs and physical structures. It is generally performed at 18–22 weeks of pregnancy to look for possible structural abnormalities involving the brain, heart, spine, kidneys, limbs and other organs. The scan also assesses fetal growth and relevant pregnancy structures, including the placenta and amniotic fluid.
CAS Ultrasound Price Philippines: Quick Comparison
| CAS examination | Published prices reviewed |
|---|---|
| Government hospital CAS | ₱700–₱2,200 |
| Private hospital CAS | ₱2,517 |
| Standard private CAS / 2D CAS | ₱2,800–₱5,000 |

Price dates and limitations:
- PGH’s ₱1,000 outpatient rate appears in its 2026 Citizen’s Charter.
- Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center publishes ₱1,050 in its 2026 radiology schedule.
- Bataan General Hospital’s 2026 Citizen’s Charter lists ₱1,500 for a singleton congenital anomaly scan.
- Chong Hua Hospital’s ₱2,517 procedure rate became effective August 26, 2026.
- Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital’s ₱2,200 listing is from March 2023.
- Fabella Hospital publishes different rates by department and patient category. Its website does not clearly establish a 2026 effective date for every listed fee.
The online prices are from Hati Health, a healthcare booking platform. Its crossed-out reference prices are not necessarily confirmed walk-in rates.
CAS Ultrasound Price at Government Hospitals
Government hospitals can offer lower published rates than private diagnostic centers, but specialist availability and eligibility requirements vary.
Philippine General Hospital (PGH):
PGH’s 2026 Citizen’s Charter lists the following congenital anomaly scan fees:
| Patient classification | CAS price |
|---|---|
| Outpatient-pay | ₱1,000 |
| Ward / semi-private | ₱1,000 |
| Private | ₱1,200 |
| Suite / deluxe | ₱1,200 |
PGH also lists separate obstetric ultrasound services such as CAS with Doppler and 4D ultrasound with CAS. Ask the hospital’s OB-GYN Ultrasound Section for the current amount payable under your patient classification and whether any professional or consultation fees apply.
Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital:
Fabella publishes different prices for congenital anomaly scanning depending on the service unit:
| Fabella department | Published CAS rate |
|---|---|
| Outpatient Department | ₱700 |
| Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic | ₱1,100 |
| Women’s Clinic special OB procedure | ₱1,200 |
Some Fabella fee categories also list separate reading fees for ultrasound procedures. For example, the Maternal-Fetal Medicine section lists a ₱500 reader’s fee for most OB ultrasound procedures.
Do not assume the lowest procedure amount is the complete bill. Ask which department will perform your CAS and whether its published rate includes the specialist’s interpretation.
Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center
The hospital’s 2026 Citizen’s Charter lists:
- CAS for one fetus: ₱1,500
- CAS for multiple fetuses: ₱2,500
The listed examination time is approximately 30 minutes for a singleton pregnancy and one hour for multiple fetuses.
Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center:
Its published 2026 radiology rates list a congenital anomaly scan (OB) at ₱1,050.
Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital:
The hospital’s March 2023 schedule lists:
- Singleton CAS: ₱2,200
- Twin CAS: ₱3,300
These older prices are useful for comparison but must be reconfirmed before booking.
CAS Ultrasound Price at Private Hospitals
Chong Hua Hospital
Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu publishes a ₱2,517 congenital anomaly scan rate for a single fetus, effective August 26, 2026. The hospital’s price list states that the listed amount covers the procedure charge and excludes medicines or supplies when needed.
A private hospital’s fee does not always include every related service. Confirm whether the CAS report, specialist interpretation and any required additional imaging are included.
From the first pregnancy test price in the Philippines to scans like CAS, the small costs of pregnancy add up, so checking each one early makes budgeting easier.
Hi-Precision CAS Ultrasound Price
Hi-Precision Diagnostics offers 2D congenital anomaly ultrasound through participating branches listed on Hati Health.
| Hi-Precision service | Online price | Platform reference price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Hi-Precision 2D CAS | ₱4,200 | ₱5,160 |
| Hi-Precision Plus 2D CAS | ₱5,000 | ₱6,000 |
Hati Health displays the standard service at 21 participating Hi-Precision branches and the Plus service at 15 participating branches. The listed locations include branches in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Baguio and other areas.
A standard Hi-Precision 2D CAS can therefore be ₱800 less than the listed Plus-branch online price. The booking platform’s reference prices should not automatically be treated as guaranteed walk-in rates.
How Does Hi-Precision Compare With Other Private Clinics?
Here are selected online prices for a standard CAS or 2D congenital anomaly examination:
| Diagnostic center | Online price |
|---|---|
| Exact Check — Banawe / Libis | ₱2,800 |
| Balbido Medical Clinic — Alabang | ₱3,400 |
| Ashrey Diagnostic Center — Taguig | ₱3,595 |
| GAIA OB-GYN — BF Homes / Biñan | ₱3,600 |
| Hi-Precision — selected branches | ₱4,200 |
| Healthway QualiMed — Manila | ₱4,326 |
| Hi-Precision Plus — selected branches | ₱5,000 |
These listings show a ₱2,200 difference between the lowest and highest selected online standard-CAS rates. However, a lower advertised price is useful only if the examination matches your OB-GYN’s request and includes an appropriate formal report.
Some clinics are tagged as HMO-accredited on the booking platform, but Hati’s online checkout does not itself provide HMO payment. If you plan to use insurance, contact the clinic and your HMO directly before booking.
CAS Ultrasound Packages: Cervical Length, Doppler and 3D/4D
Some clinics offer combinations of CAS and additional medical assessments or optional imaging. These packages can cost substantially more than standard 2D CAS.
| Package | Published online price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Standard CAS at GAIA | ₱3,600 | Detailed fetal anatomy examination |
| CAS + cervical length | ₱5,000 | Cervical measurement |
| CAS + 3D/4D/HD Live | ₱6,500 | 3D/4D images, soft copies and prints |
| CAS + placental Doppler | ₱7,500 | Additional blood-flow assessment |
| CAS + cervical length, twins | ₱8,000 | Twin anatomy assessment plus cervical measurement |
| CAS + placental Doppler, twins | ₱12,000 | Twin CAS with additional Doppler evaluation |
These are published examples from GAIA OB-GYN Ultrasound Clinic through Hati Health.
CAS With Cervical Length
Cervical length ultrasound measures the length of the cervix and may help assess the risk of preterm birth. The measurement may be particularly relevant in pregnancies where the OB-GYN is concerned about early labor or other risk factors.
GAIA’s published CAS plus cervical length package costs ₱5,000, compared with ₱3,600 for standard CAS at the same provider. The appropriate examination should be determined by your OB-GYN.
CAS With Placental Doppler
A placental Doppler study assesses blood-flow patterns relevant to the placenta and pregnancy. Your doctor may request this examination when additional evaluation is needed because of certain maternal or fetal findings.
GAIA lists ₱7,500 for the combined CAS and placental Doppler package. Doppler is not automatically necessary in every uncomplicated pregnancy.
CAS With 3D/4D/HD Live
GAIA offers a CAS plus 3D/4D/HD Live package that includes soft copies, thermal prints and a framed colored picture. The published online price is ₱6,500.
The additional 3D/4D imaging provides different visual representations and keepsake images. It does not replace the detailed structural assessment performed during the CAS itself.
If your obstetrician requested only a standard congenital anomaly scan, paying extra for keepsake imaging is not automatically medically necessary.
CAS for Twins
Multiple pregnancies require examination of each baby’s anatomy and may involve additional time and specialist assessment.
For example:
- Bataan General Hospital lists ₱2,500 for multiple-fetus CAS.
- Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital’s older schedule lists ₱3,300 for twin CAS.
- GAIA publishes ₱8,000 for twin CAS with cervical length.
- GAIA publishes ₱12,000 for twin CAS with placental Doppler.
These are different service packages and should not be compared as though they include identical procedures. If you are expecting twins, ask specifically for a twin CAS quotation, including any additional fetal assessments requested by your doctor.
Around the later part of pregnancy, your OB may also screen you for gestational diabetes, so many mothers check the OGTT test price in the Philippines while planning their prenatal budget.
Some mothers are also offered DNA-based prenatal screening by their doctor. If that is part of your plan, see the DNA test price in the Philippines to include it in your budget.
When Should You Get a CAS Ultrasound?
The usual timing for a congenital anomaly scan is 18–22 weeks of pregnancy, during the second trimester. This window generally provides an appropriate opportunity to evaluate fetal anatomy.
PhilHealth’s 2026 maternal healthcare quality standards recommend the second routine pregnancy ultrasound during 18–22 weeks.
Can You Have CAS Before 18 Weeks?
Some fetal structures may be visible earlier, but an early examination does not always provide the same detail as a mid-trimester anomaly scan.
If your doctor identifies a reason for earlier specialized imaging, they may recommend it while explaining whether a later examination will still be needed.
What if You Are Already 23 or 24 Weeks Pregnant?
A detailed anatomical assessment may still be possible later in pregnancy. However, certain structures may become more difficult to assess, and the clinical usefulness of different investigations can depend on gestational age.
Contact your OB-GYN promptly rather than assuming you have missed the opportunity for assessment. Some clinics separately list late-pregnancy anomaly examinations.
Do You Need CAS in Every Pregnancy?
Detailed fetal anatomy assessment is part of recommended prenatal screening, but individual ultrasound needs can differ. Your OB-GYN will consider your pregnancy history, clinical findings, gestational age and the services already performed.
A normal early-pregnancy ultrasound does not necessarily replace a detailed second-trimester anatomical assessment.
What Does a CAS Ultrasound Check?
A CAS is designed to examine the baby’s developing anatomy more systematically than a basic pregnancy ultrasound.
| Area examined | What the scan assesses |
|---|---|
| Brain and skull | Visible brain structures and skull development |
| Face | Selected facial structures, including possible cleft findings |
| Heart | Chambers, position and other visible cardiac structures |
| Spine | Alignment and possible structural abnormalities |
| Abdominal wall | Normal formation and position of abdominal organs |
| Kidneys and bladder | Development of the urinary system |
| Arms and legs | Limb development and visible structures |
| Fetal measurements | Growth relative to gestational age |
| Placenta | Location and other relevant findings |
| Amniotic fluid | Fluid surrounding the baby |
The exact examination protocol can differ by facility and specialist. A CAS may identify possible structural abnormalities, but it cannot detect every condition. Some findings may require a specialist examination, fetal echocardiography, genetic screening or further diagnostic assessment.
A normal CAS is reassuring but does not guarantee that a baby has no medical or genetic condition.
CAS vs. Regular 2D, 3D/4D, NIPT and Biophysical Profile
These services have different purposes.
| Test | Typical timing | Main purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Early pregnancy ultrasound / TVS | First trimester | Confirm pregnancy, location, viability and gestational age |
| Regular 2D OB ultrasound | Various pregnancy stages | Assess fetal growth, heartbeat, position and pregnancy structures |
| CAS / anatomy scan | 18–22 weeks | Detailed screening of fetal anatomy |
| 3D/4D ultrasound | Depends on purpose | Additional three-dimensional or moving images |
| NIPT | From an eligible stage early in pregnancy | Screen for selected chromosome conditions |
| Biophysical profile (BPP/BPS) | Usually later pregnancy, when indicated | Assess aspects of fetal well-being |
| Fetal echocardiography | When clinically indicated | Detailed assessment of fetal heart structures and function |
Is CAS the Same as 3D/4D Ultrasound?
No. A standard congenital anomaly scan is generally performed using 2D ultrasound to assess the baby’s anatomy. 3D and 4D imaging may provide additional views, but attractive 3D pictures do not prove that a full fetal anomaly examination has been completed.
CAS vs. NIPT
CAS and NIPT investigate different aspects of pregnancy. CAS is an ultrasound examination looking for structural findings. NIPT is a maternal blood screening test assessing the likelihood of certain chromosome conditions, such as trisomy 21 (Down syndrome).
Neither test guarantees the absence of every condition. A normal CAS cannot completely rule out Down syndrome, and a low-risk NIPT result does not rule out all structural abnormalities.
How to Prepare for a CAS Ultrasound
Most standard second-trimester CAS appointments require no special preparation. Hati Health’s congenital anomaly scan listings state that no patient preparation is required. You generally do not need to fast before a routine transabdominal CAS.
However, ask your chosen hospital whether it has particular requirements, including bladder preparation.
What to Bring
- Doctor’s request or OB-GYN referral, if required
- Prenatal record or maternity booklet
- Previous ultrasound results
- Valid identification
- Appointment or booking confirmation
- HMO authorization or relevant benefit documents, if applicable
Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to your abdomen. If your clinic has given specific preparation instructions, follow those rather than relying on general advice.
How Long Does the Scan Take?
A detailed CAS generally takes about 30–60 minutes. The actual duration depends on the baby’s position, the structures being examined and whether more than one baby is present. A sonographer or obstetric ultrasound specialist applies gel to your abdomen and moves the ultrasound probe across the skin.
You may be asked to change position or wait briefly if the baby is not positioned well for certain measurements. The examination is generally painless, although probe pressure may sometimes cause discomfort. Ultrasound uses sound waves rather than ionizing radiation.
When Will the Results Be Available?
Some clinics explain the main findings during the examination, while others release an official written report afterward. The exact reporting time depends on the clinic.
Ask whether the fee includes:
- The formal ultrasound report
- Printed images or digital copies
- Specialist interpretation
- Any recommended repeat imaging
- A separate OB-GYN consultation, if necessary
A report may require a follow-up appointment with your treating obstetrician.
Does PhilHealth Cover CAS Ultrasound?
PhilHealth provides specific ultrasound benefits under its expanded 2026 maternity care program, but this does not mean every privately booked CAS is automatically covered.
Under PhilHealth Circular No. 2026-0006, the Diagnostic Antenatal Care benefit identifies the following ultrasound services:
| PhilHealth diagnostic service | Benefit rate |
|---|---|
| First-trimester transvaginal ultrasound (ANS1) | ₱1,000 |
| Pelvic ultrasound in the second or third trimester (ANS2) | ₱1,000 |
These amounts are benefit reimbursement rates, not guaranteed cash discounts from a CAS clinic’s advertised price. The circular provides rules on provider participation, referral, eligible diagnostic services and reimbursement.
Is a Dedicated CAS Covered?
The circular specifically identifies a first-trimester transvaginal ultrasound and a second- or third-trimester pelvic ultrasound. It does not establish a separate nationwide reimbursement amount for every detailed congenital anomaly scan sold as a private outpatient service.
A CAS and a routine pelvic pregnancy ultrasound should not automatically be treated as the same billable benefit.
Before booking, ask your PhilHealth-accredited antenatal care provider whether the examination your OB-GYN requested can be provided through the applicable maternity benefit or requires a separate payment.
Can You Get a Free CAS in a Government Hospital?
Some government hospitals publish substantially lower rates than private clinics, and assistance may be available to eligible patients. However, there is no verified universal program making all CAS examinations free at every government hospital.
Ask the hospital’s OB-GYN department or Medical Social Service office about any available subsidized services and the requirements for accessing them.
Can an HMO Cover CAS Ultrasound?
Some HMO plans include maternity-related diagnostic benefits, but many plans have restrictions or exclusions. A clinic being marked “HMO Accepted” does not mean every member’s congenital anomaly scan will be paid by insurance.
Before scheduling, ask your insurer:
- Is a congenital anomaly scan included in my plan?
- Is the selected clinic or specialist accredited?
- Do I need a Letter of Authorization (LOA)?
- Are cervical length or Doppler assessments included?
- Will there be a co-payment or additional charge?
Hati Health’s online booking prices are intended for its booking and payment arrangements, not automatically for HMO reimbursement. If you want to use insurance, check directly with the clinic and HMO instead of assuming the same online promotional price applies.
What Other Costs Might Apply?
Not all CAS prices include the same services.
| Possible additional charge | When it may apply |
|---|---|
| Specialist interpretation or reading fee | When not included in the procedure price |
| OB-GYN consultation | If a separate consultation is required |
| Cervical length assessment | When requested separately |
| Placental or fetal Doppler | When clinically indicated |
| 3D/4D images | Optional extra imaging and keepsake package |
| Multiple-fetus examination | Twin or higher-order pregnancy |
| Repeat imaging | When the initial examination is incomplete or a follow-up is requested |
| Extra printed or digital images | Depending on the clinic’s package |
Fabella Hospital’s published fees illustrate why this matters: certain patient categories have separate reading fees in addition to the listed ultrasound procedure fee. Similarly, Chong Hua Hospital clarifies that its published charges cover the procedure itself and may exclude other required items.
Before paying, ask for the total CAS cost including the specialist’s fee and official written report.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is CAS at Hi-Precision?
Hati Health lists a standard Hi-Precision 2D congenital anomaly scan at ₱4,200 online, while participating Hi-Precision Plus branches show ₱5,000. These are booking-platform prices, and availability may differ by branch.
How many weeks should you be for CAS?
The usual recommended window is 18–22 weeks of pregnancy. Your OB-GYN may advise a different time when clinically necessary.
Can CAS show the baby’s sex?
The baby’s external genitalia may be visible depending on gestational age and fetal position. However, identifying fetal sex is not the main purpose of the scan, and visibility cannot be guaranteed.
Is CAS ultrasound painful?
A standard transabdominal CAS is usually painless. Mild discomfort may occur when the examiner applies pressure with the probe.
Can CAS detect Down syndrome?
CAS may identify certain ultrasound findings associated with chromosome conditions, but it cannot definitively diagnose or exclude Down syndrome. NIPT and other prenatal tests serve different purposes. Discuss appropriate testing with your OB-GYN.
What happens if CAS finds a possible abnormality?
Your obstetrician may recommend additional imaging, consultation with a maternal-fetal medicine specialist or other tests. An unexpected ultrasound finding does not always establish a final diagnosis.
Is CAS required even if the first ultrasound was normal?
A first-trimester ultrasound and a detailed second-trimester anatomy scan answer different medical questions. An early normal scan does not necessarily replace the later anatomical assessment.
Is fasting required before CAS?
Usually not for a standard CAS. However, confirm the facility’s preparation instructions, including whether bladder filling is required.
Before You Book Your CAS Ultrasound
To get the correct examination without unnecessary expense, follow this checklist:
- Check your pregnancy weeks. The usual CAS window is 18–22 weeks.
- Confirm the exact examination. Is the request for standard CAS, CAS with cervical length, Doppler or another study?
- Compare government and private rates. A lower public hospital rate may be available if you meet its booking requirements.
- Ask about the total bill. Confirm whether the published price includes specialist interpretation and the official report.
- Consider optional images separately. A 3D/4D package is not automatically required for a medically indicated CAS.
- Confirm HMO or PhilHealth arrangements. Do not assume a standard online booking is covered.
- Ask when results are ready. Determine whether follow-up consultation or repeat imaging will cost extra.
If your OB-GYN has advised a detailed fetal anatomy scan, arrange it early enough to fit the recommended examination window.
How CareCostPH Checked These Prices
