Pregnancy Test Price in the Philippines: Home Kits and Lab Tests

A home pregnancy test can cost as little as ₱32 on promotion, while laboratory urine tests start at ₱150 in the online listings. Serum pregnancy tests start at ₱210, but a quantitative blood hCG test, which reports a numerical hormone level, is a separate service with selected offers starting at ₱850.
For a first check after a missed period, a correctly used home kit is often a reasonable starting point. If a clinician requests testing, match the exact test on the request before comparing prices.

The designs work differently:
- Strip: dip the marked end into collected urine, following the leaflet’s depth and timing instructions.
- Cassette or plate: collect urine and use a dropper to place the required number of drops into the sample well.
- Midstream stick: apply urine to the absorbent tip as the product instructions describe.
Do not use one brand’s instructions for another. The amount of urine and reading window can differ. A higher price alone does not mean a more accurate result. Test sensitivity, timing and correct use matter; pricier designs may offer easier handling or reading.
Laboratory urine and serum pregnancy test prices
The following are online booking prices through Hati Health, not confirmed walk-in quotations.
| Laboratory or provider | Urine pregnancy test | Serum pregnancy test |
|---|---|---|
| Ashrey Diagnostic Center, Makati and Taguig | ₱150 | — |
| EC Care, Mandaue | ₱200 | ₱250 |
| Exact Check, Quezon City | ₱210 | ₱210 |
| Access Laboratory, Caloocan | ₱250 | ₱320 |
| Hi-Precision Cebu | ₱280 | ₱350 |
| ACE Medical Center, Mandaluyong | ₱290 | ₱290 |
| Hi-Precision | ₱360 | ₱360 |
| Hi-Precision Plus | ₱420 | ₱450 |
| Healthway QualiMed, PGH Faculty Medical Arts Building | ₱608 | ₱438 |
A dash means no serum price is included here; it does not mean the service is unavailable. Select your branch and confirm the exact test before paying.
A crossed-out “regular” price is not a confirmed counter price. Compare the online offer with a quotation from the branch instead of assuming that walking in always costs more.
A laboratory urine pregnancy test checks for hCG, as a home kit does, and provides a laboratory report. If you need documentation, ask the requesting clinic or organisation which test and provider it accepts.
Once a pregnancy is confirmed, your OB will usually order a set of prenatal laboratory tests. One of the basics is the blood count, and you can check the CBC test price in the Philippines for it.
Quantitative hCG prices: a different blood test
Blood pregnancy tests can be:
- Qualitative: reports whether hCG is detected.
- Quantitative: reports the measured hCG concentration.
A listing called “serum pregnancy test” does not by itself guarantee a numerical result. If your request says quantitative hCG or beta-hCG quantitative, confirm that exact service.
| Provider through Hati Health | Quantitative hCG price |
|---|---|
| Singapore Diagnostics | ₱850 |
| Hi-Precision | ₱1,140 |
| Hi-Precision Cebu | ₱1,320 |
| Hi-Precision Plus | ₱1,440 |
| Healthway QualiMed, PGH Faculty Medical Arts Building | ₱1,597 |
These prices apply to the participating branches shown on the platform. A clinician may request quantitative testing to investigate or monitor an early pregnancy and will interpret it alongside other findings.
If you have been trying to conceive and are considering treatment, it also helps to know the IVF price so you can plan your budget early.
Government hospital Pregnancy Test prices
UP–Philippine General Hospital publishes a ₱180 service rate for a urine pregnancy test. Its separate listing for serum hCG total undiluted is ₱540 at the service rate and ₱605 for pay outpatients.
Ask which patient category applies and whether the listed assay matches your request. These are separate from Healthway QualiMed’s offers at PGH FMAB.
If a pregnancy ends and your doctor recommends a completion procedure, you can check the D&C price in the Philippines for its cost.
Can you get a pregnancy test for free?
PhilHealth prenatal diagnostic benefits
Under PhilHealth Circular 2026-0006, pregnancy testing is included in the initial prenatal laboratory bundle, together with blood typing, CBC, urinalysis, and hepatitis B, HIV and syphilis screening. The circular specifies no patient charge for the covered bundle.
To access it:
- Ask your YAKAP clinic or a participating prenatal provider about the benefit.
- Obtain the laboratory request from your prenatal-care provider.
- Use the participating diagnostic facility identified by the provider or care coordinator.
- Confirm that the tests will be processed under the covered prenatal bundle before paying.
PhilHealth’s August 2026 advisory reiterates the no-co-payment requirement and says reimbursements go to the laboratory. General PhilHealth accreditation alone does not establish that a facility offers this particular benefit.
A separately purchased home kit or privately booked test is not automatically covered through this arrangement.
Local health offices
Mamburao Municipal Health Office in Occidental Mindoro lists pregnancy testing among its free laboratory services for residents, including PhilHealth OPD cardholders and non-cardholders. A physician’s laboratory request is required. Ask about current availability before visiting.
Tangub City Health Office in Misamis Occidental lists pregnancy testing with a different arrangement: the patient supplies the test kit. Ask which kit to bring and whether any other fees apply.
Ask your own city or municipal health office whether it offers pregnancy testing, who qualifies and what documents to bring.
Later in pregnancy, your OB will usually screen for gestational diabetes. You can check the oral glucose tolerance test cost when that stage comes.
Which pregnancy test should you choose?
| Your situation | Option to consider |
|---|---|
| You want a private first check after a missed period | A home urine pregnancy kit |
| A home result is unclear or negative but your period remains late | Repeat as directed after a few days; seek medical advice if uncertainty persists |
| A clinic or organisation requires a laboratory report | The exact laboratory test it accepts |
| Your clinician requests a numerical hCG level | Quantitative blood hCG |
| You have a positive result | Arrange a healthcare appointment to discuss the next steps |
Blood tests can detect smaller amounts of hCG than urine tests, but that does not mean everyone needs one after a clear home result.
Routine urinalysis does not replace a pregnancy test. Ask specifically for a pregnancy test or urine hCG when that is what you need.
When and how to take a pregnancy test
Most home tests can be used from the first day of a missed period. If you do not know when your period is due, the NHS advises testing at least 21 days after your last unprotected sex.
For a home test:
- Check the expiry date and read the leaflet before opening the kit.
- Follow the product’s collection and application instructions.
- Consider first-morning urine, especially when testing early.
- Use a timer and read the result only within the stated window.
- Check that the control indicator appears; otherwise, repeat with a new kit.
Testing too early can produce a negative result even when you are pregnant.
Pregnancy testing alone generally does not require fasting. Avoid drinking excessive water just to produce urine, because dilution can affect detection. Tell your clinician about fertility medicines or other treatments that could affect the result. Follow separate preparation instructions if you are having other tests too.
HMO and home collection
HMO: Ask your provider to approve the exact test before paying. Coverage depends on your plan and the reason for testing. MediCard’s published Standard plan, for example, excludes maternity care and pregnancy-related conditions unless specifically included. A laboratory’s HMO accreditation does not guarantee that your pregnancy test is covered.
Home collection: Check the full cost, including minimum orders. Exact Check’s Hati listing specifies a ₱600–₱700 home-service fee, a ₱500 minimum test order and selected Metro Manila service areas. For a single inexpensive test, collection can cost more than the test itself.
Frequently asked questions
Does a faint second line mean I am pregnant?
A faint test line appearing within the correct reading window can indicate a positive result when the control line is also present. Follow your kit’s interpretation guide. Do not interpret changes that appear after the reading window. If the result is unclear, repeat with a new test or contact a healthcare professional.
How soon will a laboratory release the result?
Ask the selected branch before booking. An advertised service duration is not necessarily the report-release time. If you have a deadline, confirm when and how you will receive the report.
Do I need a doctor’s request?
Confirm with the laboratory for self-paid testing. A booking page that does not mention a request does not prove that none is needed. The PhilHealth prenatal bundle and Mamburao’s free service require a laboratory request; HMO approval may also require supporting documents.
What should I do after a positive or negative result?
Positive: arrange a healthcare appointment. Your clinician can advise whether further testing or ultrasound is needed and when to do it. Ask your provider about PhilHealth maternity benefits, which include eight prenatal consultations and specified laboratory and ultrasound services at participating facilities.
Negative but your period is late: test again after a few days. Seek medical advice if repeat results are negative and your period still has not arrived.
Seek urgent care for possible pregnancy with one-sided lower abdominal pain, unusual bleeding or shoulder-tip pain. Go to an emergency department for sudden severe abdominal pain, marked dizziness or fainting. Do not wait for another home test if you have these symptoms.
How to avoid unnecessary costs
- Match the test to your needs or your clinician’s request.
- Compare the total online price with the branch’s quotation.
- Include transport, delivery and home-collection fees.
- Check HMO approval or local health-office eligibility before paying.
- Follow the instructions carefully so an invalid test does not mean buying another kit.
