The table below gives a faster way to estimate what you may pay. These are observed published prices from Philippine facilities reviewed by CareCostPH, not fixed nationwide rates.

These ranges combine different hospitals and, in some cases, different numbers of views or patient classifications. Use them as a budget guide, then check the exact procedure written on your doctor’s request.

Current rates supporting these ranges include Ilocos Sur Medical Center’s December 2025 schedule, Bicol Medical Center’s July 2026 schedule, PGH’s 2026 fee schedule and Chong Hua’s August 26, 2026 rates.

Actual X-Ray Prices at Philippine Hospitals

Here is a second way to compare prices: actual published rates from individual facilities.

PGH also publishes lower service rates for some examinations, so the amount charged can depend on patient classification. For example, its 2026 schedule lists chest PA at ₱245 under service rates but ₱470 for outpatient-pay patients.

Ilocos Sur Medical Center lists a chest PA at ₱300, upper-extremity studies at ₱350, lower extremities at ₱450, KUB at ₱450 and lumbosacral spine at ₱600.

Bicol Medical Center’s July 2026 schedule includes an adult one-view chest X-ray at ₱390, two views at ₱550, knee AP/lateral at ₱520, wrist AP/lateral at ₱520, two-view lumbosacral imaging at ₱400 and one-view skull at ₱250.

Chong Hua’s rates effective August 26, 2026 are higher for several multi-view examinations: hand AP/lateral/oblique at ₱1,125, foot AP/lateral/oblique at ₱1,687, knee AP/lateral at ₱1,071 and pelvis AP at ₱1,517.

The main takeaway is simple: always compare the same examination and the same number of views.

A ₱350 hand X-ray and a ₱1,125 hand X-ray may not represent identical imaging protocols.

Chest X-Ray Price in the Philippines

A chest X-ray is one of the most commonly priced radiology examinations.

For a basic adult PA/AP chest X-ray, published examples include:

What Can Make Your X-Ray More Expensive?

Number of views

This is one of the biggest differences.

A chest PA alone costs less than a PA+lateral study because additional images are required.

For example, Bicol Medical Center lists ₱390 for one adult chest view and ₱550 for two views. Chong Hua lists ₱509 for PA/AP and ₱923 for PA+lateral/AP+lateral.

Body part

A basic chest X-ray is generally cheaper than a multi-view spine, pelvis or foot examination in the published schedules reviewed.

Public vs private facility

Government service rates can be lower, although patient classification and the precise examination matter.

Special or additional views

Oblique, lordotic, flexion/extension, decubitus or other views can add to the examination.

Portable or bedside X-ray

A portable examination is a separate service at some hospitals. Chong Hua, for example, lists its bedside/portable X-ray service separately from its individual general-radiology examinations.

Is the Radiologist’s Reading Included?

Do not assume that every advertised X-ray rate includes exactly the same services.

Chong Hua specifically states that its published general-radiology prices cover procedure costs, while required medications and supplies are not included.

Does PhilHealth Cover X-Rays?

PhilHealth can cover chest X-rays in certain primary-care and benefit-package situations, but this does not mean any walk-in X-ray at any hospital is automatically free.

PhilHealth’s enhanced primary-care benefit documentation includes chest X-ray among diagnostic services. Current YAKAP information says covered primary-care services include check-ups, laboratory services, medicines and screening services when medically needed through the member’s YAKAP clinic.

PhilHealth’s 2026 YAKAP quality standards also specifically refer to chest X-ray results in tuberculosis screening.

A January 2026 PhilHealth advisory states that members should not be charged for covered YAKAP primary-care services at public YAKAP clinics. For private YAKAP clinics, the advisory sets the annual member co-payment cap for covered YAKAP services at ₱900 per member per year.

The important word is covered.

Before assuming your X-ray will be paid through YAKAP or another PhilHealth benefit, check:

1. whether the X-ray is clinically indicated under your benefit,
2. whether it must be arranged through your chosen YAKAP clinic,
3. whether the imaging facility is an appropriate participating provider, and
4. whether any co-payment applies.

A normal cash X-ray purchased independently is not automatically converted into a PhilHealth-covered service.

Senior Citizen Discount for X-Rays

Qualified senior citizens have substantial healthcare privileges under Republic Act No. 9994.

The law provides a 20% discount and VAT exemption, when applicable, for medical, dental, diagnostic and laboratory services in private medical facilities. It also provides for free diagnostic and laboratory services—including X-rays—in government facilities, subject to the applicable DOH and PhilHealth rules.

Bring appropriate proof such as your senior citizen ID and ask the billing section how the benefit applies to your specific X-ray.

PWD Discount for X-Rays

Qualified persons with disability are entitled under Republic Act No. 10754 and its implementing rules to at least a 20% discount and VAT exemption, where applicable, on qualifying medical and dental services, including diagnostic and laboratory services such as X-rays.

Do You Need a Doctor’s Request for an X-Ray?

Many Philippine hospitals require a completed radiology or doctor’s request, so it is safest to bring one unless the facility tells you otherwise.

Southern Isabela Medical Center’s 2026 Citizen’s Charter requires a completed Radiology Request Slip for X-ray services. Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center likewise requires a completed X-ray request form containing the doctor’s name and signature.

Some private diagnostic clinics also ask patients to bring a doctor’s request, while others may offer an on-site medical consultation.

X-Ray Price for Employment or Pre-Employment

If your employer asks for a chest X-ray, a reasonable budget based on the published basic chest rates reviewed here is roughly ₱200–₱509 for a single basic view, although your actual clinic may charge more or include the X-ray as part of a pre-employment medical package.

Before paying separately, ask:

• Is the chest X-ray already included in the medical package?

• Is a medical certificate/report included?

For visa or immigration examinations, do not assume routine outpatient X-ray pricing applies because the required medical examination may follow a separate program and fee structure.

How Long Does an X-Ray Take?

The actual examination is usually relatively quick.

Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center states that a conventional X-ray examination may take up to about 15 minutes, depending on the requested procedure, patient cooperation and anatomical or physiological considerations.

The X-ray image may be completed quickly, but the radiologist’s final report can take longer. Ask your chosen facility when the result will be released, especially if you need it for employment, school or an upcoming consultation.
